Rhythm is in the feet
Rhythm is essentially binary and
alternates Beats and Offbeats.Placing Beats on the right foot and Offbeats on the left foot
(corresponding to the drummer's disposition of the bass drum and
hihat) enables one to feel this alternation while singing, or simply
hearing, any piece of music.
Hihat or Military
One might prefer the military disposition of Beats on the left foot and Offbeats on the right foot
but we expected more drummers than soldiers to read this newsletter.
